she is squishy soft and crafted from european wool felt and the cheeriest cotton prints. phoebes would love nothing more than to be traipsed about the house in small arms, or to perch quiet-like on a dresser top and enjoy the thoughtful company of you.
[bonus points if you live in a stone tudor with secret passageways, or a sea-bright cottage, or anywhere within shouting distance of london. she has a soft spot for such things.]
if you'd like phoebe to come live at your place (or be gifted to someone dear to you), please tell me in the comments below the name of your best friend from childhood. [if you'd like an extra shot at winning, tweet or facebook this post, and leave me a second comment saying you did so.]
entries will close on thursday, february 3rd at 11:59pm est. a winner will be drawn at random and will likely be announced sometime friday.
bonne chance, and happy monday, friends!
:)

Oh she's just lovely Nic! I just adore her. :D Seeing as I've already won one of your lovely little dolls I won't throw my name in but I have to tell you, Evey just adores her's still. It's often found stuffed up next her to her head as she sleeps at night. :)
She's darling! We just found out we're having another baby and she'd be a perfect 1st gift. My best friend from childhood was Sarah.
Bri
P.S. After this baby comes, I'm going to have to send back my necklace and have you add another name. Yay! :)
Oh Nic, I LOVE her!!! Phoebe reminds me of the first doll I picked out for myself, a little softie from a street fair, back in Old San Juan, where we lived when I was little. My best friend's name growing up was Joemyr. We were inseparable!

What a sweet doll! Looks like my 1/2 Filipino niece! My friend's name was Emily. Lived two doors down. We'd spy on people and make up dances with our little sisters.
well she's just adorable. my best friend when i was a little girl was christy campion. she was adopted from korea. her daddy was a doctor and she had three older brothers. we spent many hours playing at her house growing up. thanks for making me think back that far. i have no idea where she is now. makes me sad.
She's wonderfully lovely (as usual!) If Phoebe needed us to move to a london cottage or a stone tudor (with MOSS!) well, then I could be persuaded :)
My best friend from childhood was Stephani (no E!). We still talk and get together as life warrants.
Saw her on Flickr and think that she is such a beautiful doll.
love her! we are a holt family, too. my childhood best friend was and still is my natalie. through thick and thin...we'll always be there for each other.

Oh she is so darling and would be pretty for the little girl we are expecting in March. My best friend from childhood was named Stefanie.
She's adorable! My best friend was Sam, my mom babysat her & her twin sister, so we were best buds before we started school. She moved away right before we hit high school but we still talk a little bit sometimes.
My best girl was Angie, and she happens to be the older sister of Katie (Pencil Box). My memories of their home and their family stretch out a mile wide. It is still one of the happiest places in my mind.
Your doll is a Beaut!!
Oh, she's so adorable! Love her! One of my best friends growing up was Jamie, who I don't see anymore...too bad because we had some good times :)

Pheobe is just adorable!!! I don't want to enter b/c I'm sure there are others more deserving out there that know a little girl who would love, love, love that baby. But I will say my childhood bestfriends: Kelly & Teresa. I still keep in touch with both and love them dearly. Even though I don't get to see them very often. :o)
My best friend growing up was my sister Nida. We each had other friends at different times, but there is no friendship that matched the one between us sisters.
Phoebe would be welcomed gladly into our chalet home, ensconced in a snowy wooded valley, and the arms of three little girls who know how to love. =)
And my best friend's name was Roselyn.
My best friend growing up was my sister Nida. We each had other friends of our own at different times, but there is no friendship that can match the one between sisters.
My cabbage patch doll Becky, we lost her in a move when I was 8 and I think I am still heartbroken!

My best friend's name was Rhea. Such a sweet doll!

Nic-
Phoebe is charming. I would love to have her greet a foster child when she first enters our home (we are "expecting" also).
Phoebe and I have something in common as I have a soft spot for running up the snicket to share tea & biscuits with my Yorkshire friends (when in England, of course as it's rather difficult to find a snicket to run up in Arizona).
My English friends are Francis, and Joyce, and Jacey but my childhood friend was Becky.
Shalom
Pheobe is adorable. I'd love to have her come live with me. I live near the Blue Ridge Mountains and promise to take her for rides to look for deer tame enough to hand feed or the occasional black bear. Although, we'd look at them from a distant. At home she could perch beside my sewing machine as a source of inspiration...though she'd more than likely be hugged, loved, and hidden away inside one of my little ones new bed tents for pretend campouts with glow in the dark stars to gaze at when really their eyes should be closed in slumber. Oh, and my best friend growing up, the most awesome of friends in such a tumultuous time, her name is Daphne. I know, awesome, right?
My best friend from Childhood is Dawn. We meet in 4th grade & are still friends today 20 years later...wow..20 years!
Sarah was my BFF & I love Phoebe!! I would love to win it for my daughter Audrey.
Jen G.

A best friend in my childhood was a pretty elusive creature. I guess lookiing back I have to say I had the same best friend, for better or worse, most of my young years...my little brother, Micah.
BTW, I was totally loving your dolls when I saw them on the couch yesterday. They're splendid.
She is so cute! My best friends name from childhood is Jennifer - and we are still BFF to this day!
my best friend was beth. and i feel like i should buy one for my girl. the one i love. who has to go away for treatment and should have one of these dolls....can I? buy one?
Too cute! Such a sweet little face! Bright colors and so inviting to snuggle with :) You have such a gift, Nic! My best friend from childhood - Well her name is Shila - and she comes with a bit of a backstory - got time? Good. Once upon a time Shila, Sami and a few other girls were playing basketball - All the Sudden Shila collapsed! Come to find out she had to have a surgery to have a pacemaker put in at the age of... I believe it was 15. Anyhow, Basketball was O.V.E.R. OVER for Miss Shi - So not wanting to make her friend feel terrible Sami Jo quit too! Sami went on to graduate early and Shila went on to be Student Body President - Long story short Shila (my best friend to this day) is not able to work because of excruciating pain & although blessed with 2 beautiful children, she is not able to have any more because of huge coplications with her pacemaker she lives every day in this pain and the doctor who put it in will not see her or fix it. They have no money for lawyers and live pay check to pay check. I wanted to share her with you because she is truly my hero. She is the most kind, thoughtful and caring person I know. She never complains and I've never seen an ounce of bitterness in her. Daily she presses on to be a good mama for her kids...I love her to pieces! She's Amazing! & well... you asked :) Lol! As you know, I have 2 boys so if I win I would give her to Kyla, Shila's daughter. You have to share your childhood best friend story with us! Hugs, SJ
How adorably cute! My best friend was Kelly Bennett. Ahh...we had the most grand adventures together. Thanks for initiating a fun trip down memory lane! :)

OMIGOOOOOOODNESSSSS I'm SO in LOVE with Phoebe! She is SO SO SO CUTE! ♥
We are in the process of adopting and I'm pretty sure Phoebe would be our daughters very BEST buddy! ♥
Wellllll... I wish I could say I had a VERY BEST friend growing up but I just really didn't. :( ...for some reason the friend thing was a little tricky for me when I was little. So, I did play with dollies and barbies quite a bit. :)
Looks like you have lots of comments, but I thought I'd try anyway. We just had our first girl 5 months ago and I think she would come to love that beautiful doll! My best friend's name from childhood was Tammy. We lost touch in high school and college, but just reunited and her heart is so on fire for Jesus now and we have really enjoyed catching up and being reunited again! - Andrea
Her name was Sally. I thought she was my best friend, but she actually turned out to be a dastardly fiend. See, she got all of her hair chopped off into a bob. "Spiffy!" my young admiring mind thought, and so I pestered and pestered until my mother allowed me to do the same. Goodbye, golden waist-length hair. Hello, rather sad and regretful face, framed by dull fringed nothingness.
Lesson learnt: no matter how much I wanted it, I simply couldn't carry off a bob like Sally.
best friends's name was Courtney. and I just might send it to her :)
Hi Nicole
I'm Ruth from New Zealand
mom of 6
My best friend's name was Emma.
Phoebe is welcome to come and live with us. She could keep my 2 little boys (4 and 2) company as they skip/throw flat stones into Lake Wakatipu, or go on bike rides along the Arrow river, or play touch rugby in the back garden with Dad and older brothers. Or I'm sure my 2 daughters would love her to sit on their dresser :o)
Phoebe looks like she could be Maori. She's gorgeous!
BFF: Tawni...and I mean 4-Ever....both almost 5-0...:) I've never actually known a time when she wasn't part of my life...our mom's were BFF's in their childhood!
I can think of three adorable little girls who would love on Phoebes like crazy.
But most importantly, thank you for sharing your words.
stkoehn@comcast.net
Oh, Phoebe, come and live with me!!! Chloe, though nowhere near London, has a secret closet in her room...sweet and cozy for snuggles and reads and slumbers. You would be wholeheartedly welcomed and dearly loved.
Brett was my childhood friend. We did gymnastics together and roller skated in her basement for hours and hours rocking out to the Police.
I am not sure- maybe I am too late.
What a adorable doll! In case I would winn, she could go to live with my sisters small baby-girl and join her on her way though life in a green and lovely place in Switzerland, with lots of snow-covered mountains, streams and forest. In case she would want- Lucerne is not far away and she could enjoy shopping and a coffee on the shore of the lake.
My best childhoodfriend's name- (and after almost 31 years of knowing her- she still is my friend):
Isabelle
Nic she is ever so lovely. I had a bestest softie friend as a child that my mother made for me. She sewed everything hence my obsession. I named mine Millie as that is my mum's name. silly. yes. but loved very loved. Thank you for the inspiration to continue a lovely memory for my own 3 girls. ((HUGS))
Your softies are the cutest!! My childhood bff's name?? Lindy
oh me! pick me!
My very first best friend was a girl named Crystal who lived in our apartment complex. She was about a foot taller than me and I still remember her birthday was January 15. Shame, though. I can't remember her last name. :)

Phoebe is beautiful!!! She reminds me so much of my best friend, Lindsay, growing up! What a sweet doll. Lindsay and I used to "hide-away" and pretend we were sisters who would never, ever leave one another. We would journey through our bedrooms, as though we were traveling the world. For hours we would play, with dolls, blankets, anything we could find....to this day- I think of her often as I play with my own kids. Phoebe would be a fun companion for my daughter to journey with (who has 2 brothers)... ha ha! These type of people and travels last a lifetime!
she is beautiful!! my best friend from childhood was my younger sister. living in the middle of no where and on a farm, well family is about all you got =]
LOVE this! Looks like my girl! My best friend from childhood was Becky!
