1. hurrah for more nine-blocks. (just think: i only need 53 more blocks, plus sashing, quilting, and binding, and i shall have a quilt. this quilting thing takes Fortitude.)
2. internet, meet the shadow project. okay, so you've probably already met, but still. brilliant.
3. i have only one thing to say about the new look of ninja: hahahahahahahahaha. haha.
4. because.
5. 100 abandoned houses. (i'm partial to number 26.)
6. peonies in bloom. i love their excessiveness: the fat-fisted buds, the ruffled blooms so full of pink frill that they swoon beneath their own heft.
7. a simple dress for elle.
i'm feeling a bit conflicted about the hemline. this knit doesn't fray, so no issues there, but i can't decide if a raw edge outcutes a clean double-turned hem. what say you?

How you make me smile in so many different ways in the course of one post...you're amazing like that.
Maybe I don't know Elle well enough, but I would say that a raw edge suits her personality better.
1. peonies are my favorites (minus the ants) 2. an abandoned house could be just the thing I need really. at least it wouldn't require the selling of the one I'm living in prior to the move! 3. what about a sweet rolled hem to add just a touch of girliness?
take a bow Jenn
Peonies are hands down my favorite flower! Wish I had more of a green thumb :) Love the photos - GORGEOUS!
A finished hem is more in line with all the other pristine finishing you did around the neckline and sleeves. That same binding would look adorable on the hem. just a thought ;)
a simple surged hem ...left raw ... or perhaps a zig zag left down there ... idk, the simple raw edge has me twitchin ... but then again, i hate, hate, hate hemming knit :)
and where in the world did you find the ninja skirt thingie .... u amaze me, Nic :)
xoxoxo,
whit :)
peonies are my fav!!! had them in my wedding flowers ;).... what about FOE on the hem to make a bit of a bubble skirt???
thanks for sharing your randomness!
If I were a boy and we were both single, I'd marry you.
But since we're both married women, I'll just continue to stalk you.
Hope you don't mind.
You just make me smile.
(Jenn, I posted on my blog the other day how to have peonies without the ants!)
oh, oh, oh! i miss my peonies so much! what a great description you wrote of them. and i love those white snow ball puffs too.
cute dress!
Ah, you're starting to see why I found quilting exhausting - it takes too long for me to get to the finished product! Maybe when I'm much older, I'll have much more patience?
I second the hahahahaha for the ninja/protect yourself skirt! What the??
Those peonies are lovely. Too bad they wither up into dust where I live, or I'd grow them.
Why not roll hem the dress with a lettuce edge? That's what I'd do, anyway ;)
Darling dress. You ARE talented, girl. That was fabulous. I voted for the hem just because I'm a traditionalist about these kind of things.
Peonies...love them and you captured them beautifully...it's almost like you can smell them in your photos. MY personal favorite flower minus the ants, except for a tulip! LOVE LOVE LOVE the dress, I think a finished hem would look better with the rest of the dress. And be sure to let us know when you decide to list one...so I can snag it for my Ava! Just peaked in for a minute...I haven't been lurking your blog for awhile. You always make me smile!
Love that dress! what about a rolled hem edge along the bottom? Either way, it's gorgeous.
