Today was beautiful.
We did some yard work for a friend, gathering up sticks and leaves and hickory nuts embedded in the soft earth. My skin wears this layer of dust that somehow feels good.
But also, someone dear to me lost her husband this morning. I've spent most of today aching, wondering about her, wondering how she picked the words to tell her children. And I'm trying to get my mind around how a day crowned with so bright a sky could also be rooted in such profound sorrow.
M, if you ever get to read this, know that you are so deeply loved.

Oh Nic...I am hurting for her too :( I pray that she finds comfort and peace somehow through all of this. Such a tragedy...so much life left to live....

I'm so sorry that you're dealing with this situation right now. I just went through something similar recently. It's hard to imagine how things can continue to move forward when you know a family's life has stopped... Hugs
I ache for her, too ... can't get her out of my head. I keep somehow trying to put myself in those shoes to see how I might feel and it takes my breath away.

I'm so sorry for your friend. I pray for God's peace for her family.
oh my gosh Nic, my heart has not stopped aching for Michele and her kids ever since I heard about Dave. She is loved by so many people. I hope she leans on them and lets them help hold her up through the darkest time of her life. She has three gorgeous kids that she has to comfort, when comfort is what she needs. I wish I were closer so I could be there for her.
She is such an amazing person, I love and admire her so much.

I pray she finds peace and the strength that she will need in the days to come! I have only spoke to her on a few occasions and didn't know her as well, but I do know that I can't imagine going through what she is facing. I understand she has some extended family that is going to come and help her...PRAISE GOD!
