self-portrait challenge: absurd.5

{the drowned rat look}

so mostly, this is how i show up everywhere (church, grocery store, library, soccer games), with my hair in some phase of the drying process, which often means dripping down my back.

and inevitably someone scrunches my wet locks and laughs at me, and i mumble something about how the fact that i am A)showered, and B)here, is about as much as one can hope for from me.

but the truth? is that it's entirely deliberate. i cannot comprehend how drying my hair would be better than a few extra minutes of sleep or jogging or breakfasting or reading to my kid. dry hair is so low on my priority list that most days it doesn't even bother to show up at all.

so they think i'm a moron and i think they're ridiculous and it's all a lovely party of projected absurdity.

Haha!! I thought I was the only one who did that! Somehow it looks better on you than me though...

Amen. I hate to dry my hair. Like you, I enjoy so many other things so much more than spending time drying my hair. It's gonna get dry anyway... eventually...

I feel 100% the same way! I scrunch mine up into a clip so I dont' have to deal with it. Hee hee.

I agree with you. AND if you have naturally curly hair, you have to decide if you are going to make it straight, or curly, and sometimes it doesn't matter what MY plan is, my hair does it's own thing.

Could we also add taking care of clean clothes. I hate doing that. It seems just as easy to grab a clean shirt from the laundry room as a drawer. So taking care of them, is a waste of time---right?

That is assuming Nic that I actually GOT to the shower that day LOL!!

It helps that you are naturally beautiful and could have NO HAIR and look amazing ;)

Take a bow Jenn

I do this too, even during winter in the Northeast.
I have very heavy straight hair so blow-drying doesn't really make much of a difference!

Drying your hair is akin to shaving for me. Cool pic. You should swing by and see my latest post on the very topic of shaving. If you do stop by, don't bother drying your hair. ;)

My own hair is barely-towel dried as I read this...I don't think I've used a hair dryer since I was about 12, and would always show up to school with wet hair! I always preferred to sleep in.

I love the photo!

I love you Nic, wet hair and all. You are a brilliant design of mind and flesh-- kindness with a well-placed safeguard around yourself and those you love. Keep on girl-I see nothing absurd except people grabbing at your hair when not invited :) Hugs to the muse that you are, Eva

i never dry my hair too. But that's mostly because i have curls and when i do blow dry my hair i end up looking remarkably similar to a sheep.

love this picture by the way!

Nic you are gorgeous! If I looked like you, I wouldn't dry mine either:) It is such a waste of time but I do it just to make sure that I don't scare anyone, lol.
