self-portrait challenge: blue.3

{veins}

"The best thing for being sad," replied Merlyn, beginning to puff and blow, "is to learn something. That is the only thing that never fails. You may grow old and trembling in your anatomies, you may lie awake at night listening to the disorder of your veins, you may miss your only love, you may see the world about you devastated by evil lunatics, or know your honour trampled in the sewers of baser minds. There is only one thing for it then — to learn. Learn why the world wags and what wags it. That is the only thing which the mind can never exhaust, never alienate, never be tortured by, never fear or distrust, and never dream of regretting."

~Theodore H. White

That is an amazing quote. I'm going to read it again, for the third time!

I don't know how you come up with these things! My brain just isn't as complex as yours... which is why I come here. To learn ;)

You are so amazing! Do you ever sleep at night? I don't know how you think so clearly with 4 little ones running around.

Neat quote. I actually gasped when I logged on to your blog because yesterday afternoon I sat in a lazy-boy with Lowercase M and I showed her the veins in her wrist and I studied my own and when she asked me what that blue stuff was I told her it was her blood and she was astounded by what she had learned.

I LOVED this.

My veins look almost identical, but surprisingly they can never find one when they have to take blood!

Came over from SPC. Awesome quote, I think I'm going to copy and paste it and include it on my blog if that's OK. And I love your photo too, of a hand open to receive.

I linked to this on my facebook page. This posting is really beautiful and poignant and just wonderful.
I love the way the quote you chose embodies the energy of feeling blue (and then what to do about it!)
