And also

Is it completely irrational for me to want this book and this when I do not know how to knit?

Because I'm just wondering.

Not if you order Knitting for Dummies at the same time?

as irrational as me buying fabric when i haven't touched a sewing machine since 6th grade home ec. =)
it's so pretty though. =)

i do (obviously) find some other uses for it...but i do have clothing in my mind as i purchase. *sigh*

You can always learn! Those look so fun! I've always thought that knitting looked like fun. When I was a kid I took my grandma's needles wrapped some yarn around them, tapped them together a few times and wondered why it didn't make anything... :)

Well, the first book has an adorable little baby on the front, so naturally you would want to buy that!

LOL!!! You and I are so much alike. I always pick up the knitting books when I'm at Borders and drool over the designs... and I have never knitted a thing in my life! Somehow I think knitting would not be for me. I am way too impatient!

Well personally, just the cover of that book with the baby makes me want to buy it. I adore that wrap sweater and it's just plain appealing!

You can probably teach yourself to knit, you have more talent in your "almost broken" pinky finger than most people have in their collective life time.
