yesterday.

i had Big Plans to dazzle my dear ones with heart shaped calzones, cheesy broccoli, and tiny pudding parfaits last night, but then a migraine with a serious vendetta laid me out flat.

by the time i dragged down to the kitchen to manage homework and jumpstart dinner, ‘twas clearly too late for both rising wheat dough and properly chilled pudding: only one of the two could be made.

i’m sure it's already clear how this story ends.

creamy

but before you report me to the food pyramid police, i also made a surprisingly edible batch of chili and cornbread* to go with our dessert.

the chili batted .833, the cornbread a perfect thousand, and the pudding has already plum up and disappeared (which is sad news for me actually, as i was hoping to round out the day with a few creamy dollops).

and now, despite the embarrassing hour, i shall have to bid you all goodnight. those migraines leave me knackered for a good few days, and besides that, i am elderly. nighty-night.

*i’m pretty sure God covered for me with the cornbread, because hours after dinner, bee found a bowl of melted butter in the microwave that never did make it into the batter. whoops.

AHH! I am elderly too!
Yesterday after my mad gardening spree, I was having trouble walking, so when I walked to open the door for my husband who had been playing dodgeball, the first thing I said was, "I'm soooo sore. I cannot move" and he said, "I hurt my elbow" and I said, "WE ARE SO OLD!"
Then we laughed. Then I went to bed.
It was about 9 o clock ish. late for me. When did this happen. Seriously I'm amazed that you made food. Can't you order heart shaped pizza when you have a migraine? Isn't that a free pass? not that pizza sounds good. Cornbread and chili sound better.
Enjoy your sleep Granny.

Wouldn't it be lovely if that meant that cornbread didn't actually need butter!? Think of all the calories saved and all the cornbread consumed!!

Sorry to hear about your migraines. Also, you made the right choice. Pudding is always the right choice.

Sleep free, N!

Also, I spied that pudding pic before reading the text and I was sure that the story ended with a trip to some fancy ice creamery or something. You made that? And what of the crinkle-edged dish? Looks positively restaurantish to me! I'm with Jo-Jo, you outdid your migrained self!

Shoo!

(That's me telling that nasty migraine to go away! I don't want my favourite girl suffering.)

Migraine? Praying it resolved and that the light of day revealed a healing from Him.

Now you must give the recipe for a cornbread that scored a thousand and is butter free. I'm all ears...or eyes.
