tuesday, unwrapped. and late.

late last night my girl lisa inquired to the whereabouts of my tuesdays, unwrapped post. i told her i tried, but it was tuesday, crazy.

we've finally received the first draft of our home study report, which has turned us into a flurry of adoption busyness and giddiness. yeee!

but i did take a moment to document these girls, stretching up in my veryfrontyard:

early dusk

scraggly but cute

up

i call them middle-school-susans.

there’s this phase in early july that i always forget about, this awkward, spindly stage where they crane their necks and drown the reek of hormones in drakkar and peg their jeans to fit in.

next week this time they’ll be all strut and swagger, crowned and lustrous and sure of themselves. they’ll be splendid, no doubt, but i think i like them best right now.

right now, in their yellow half-scraggle, beautiful for their grit and undaunted belief.

Oh this is great! How you notice things! It's true too, which makes it funnier. Those Middle School Susan's are beautiful.

Those nerdy blooms! Have I ever told you how awesome you and your words are??

ps- Hooray about the paperwork!!

pss- Did you get my fb message about the weekend? Or maybe you just now realized that I'm an odd-ball and you've opted to run for the hills?

I didn't mean to pressure you into a Tuesday post. It's just that I languish on the days that that there are no posts on your blog. :)

Love you! And I'm so excited that the adoption process is moving along. Do keep us posted!

love how you wove this together.
I was just looking at our Black Eyed Susans too, they are leaning all greedy for the sun in the little shady corner and look like their bowing or something.
