yay, and then some.

winner!

candi of tinycandi, happy news! your name was drawn for the custom softie. i'll be in touch with you to chat about your softie's specifics. (thanks to all who entered; i loved reading your favorite doll names. turns out lola and penelope are mighty popular amongst these smallish folk.)

now i'm off to be nervous for the rest of the day. please send your happy homestudy vibes in my general direction. maybe some clean house vibes, too.

:)

**updated 10:13 pm** thanks for the email/text/fb/comment love! i think the first visit went well; hopefully our social worker agrees. :) you guys are awesome.

praying for you today! we have a social worker visit, too.

it begins to make me nervous that i don't get nervous enough. the babies have 2 cabinets completely emptied out right now. i should probably pick that up.

they will love you & you'll be one step closer!!

Best wishes today! Your family and your home and already lovely, so I just pray you can feel peaceful about the experience!

Oh...and giddy too...or are peace and giddiness mutually exclusive? Hmmm...

I used to do homestudies for a living. DON'T worry about how clean your house is. No, you don't want to be a slob, but it is the people who live in the house and their motivation, parenting, etc. that the social worker is REALLY concerned with (or better be). You'll be great!

Best of luck honey - although if you get less than 100% for being the most bestest fambly ever then I'll eat my hat.

my advice about the homestudy? don't sweat the dirty bathrooms. our social worker was amazing and made us feel so comfortable through the whole process. when i made a comment about cleaning the house she just laughed it off and said that if they used a clean house to judge character then we'd all be in trouble. ;)

our daughter was placed with us jan 7, 2008.
