september

it's early afternoon but dusky like evenfall, the sky outside roiling with angry clouds.

tempestuous weather. just about my favorite kind.

moody, gusty wind makes me feel small, but in a good way. a way that impels me to gather my children to me, to nest in layers of quilts, and to breathe in the decadent vapor steaming from cups of hot chocolate.

I totally feel this! I love storms rolling in, cold fronts brewing on the horizon... the change is exciting and the melancholy is somehow peaceful. You write beautifully, I can see it in my head so well.

I do like the variety of seasons, but I'm a little sad to see the end of summer and having to send my kids off.

Can you just go on and keep writing? And writing and writing?

I just had to shut my eyes after I read your little stormy post and imagine your words. And I liked the two new words: 'roiling' and 'evenfall'. (Did you know I come here to find new words?)
