Um...hi?

Any closet Harry Potter fans out there? You know, those of us who resemble innocuous, balanced individuals on the outside, but could secretly tell you the remaining time till book 7 arrives (9 days, 14 hours, 22 minutes)? Well, peek on out for a moment and chat with me.

So whaddayathink? Snape: good or evil? Who will die? How will the backstory on James and Lily flesh out?

I'm getting jittery here, so even if you've never heard of veritaserum, post or email me something Harry-ish anyway.

9 days, 14 hours, 20 minutes.

I was going to email you, but every time I click on an email link (not just yours) it brings up an error message. So, you'll just get a really long comment... you can email me at mejojac at aol dot com if you'd like :) You know, I posted about Harry Potter awhile back and I was so AMAZED at how many people said they had never touched a book, never seen the movies. Couldn't believe it! Me? Well, I have a Harry Potter countdown in my sidebar. And I change it. Often. I think Snape is good, but I also think he's one of the ones that will die - probably protecting Harry. I think that Percy Weasley will do something heroic to redeem himself in the eyes of his family and possibly die too. I don't want to see any of the other characters die... I was reading on a fan site and they predicted that Fred and George would die. AACK!!! NO NO NO!!!! What a horrible horrible HORRIBLE IDEA!! I'm rereading all the books right now - just finished #4 last night. Starting #5 today... what's that you say? Laundry? What laundry? Who does laundry when there are books to read!! So, what are your predictions...oh... one more thing... if Harry dies, I will never, ever read the books again. Never. ;)

I think the plot line has gone a bit beyond prediction now. We're not reading a Happily Ever After kind of story anymore, so I don't have any guesses, beyond a certainty that I'll be horrified and upset several times during my rapt absorption of the last book.

Ack!

Sorry...I'm not a fan. (ducking for cover) Although I can sympathize with the jittery feeling of counting down to a much anticipated event. Here's hoping you don't explode within the next nine days, 12 hours and 51 minutes.

Nic,

I don't have the countdown...but I have pre-ordered it on Amazon to arrive at my door the day of release....really, it's just a fun read! Snape: Good, Die:I'm going with Hermione, but I just hope JK does the ending well....there, now I'm out of the closet! (Though after my confession about HSM on my blog, people are probably wondering just what closet I'm coming out of.... ;^) )

First off, I love you all. :)

I think Snape is good, or at least on the fence but will choose the good side in this book. I concur on Snape sacrificing himself to save Harry/defeat Voldy.

Die: Snape and Voldy, at the very least. Melissa, I'm with you, if the twins die I'm going on strike! And Rob, Hermione? Really? Please no. :( No to Ginny too. Really, everyone I like needs to STAY ALIVE.

Kim: I haven't got Rowling pinned. She does a lot of things by the book for MG/YA: protagonist on his own to begin with, plus all helping adults eventually removed (in this case, killed) so he has to ultimately face the antagonist alone. But yeah, it's more intense than typical kid-lit, and the themes are so much more complex. So I can't decide if she'll spare Harry like a good kid-lit author, or if she'll take the dark and twisty path. This is what gets me twitchy...not knowing what to expect. Ack is right!

I've been lurking around your blog for a while now (found it from a link on Ribbon Rock Star's blog) but just had to post about Harry.

Snape: I just can't trust him

Die: Voldemort and Snape (if he's bad)

Also: I hope that Dumbledore isn't really dead and that there's a flash forward to twenty years in the future so that we can find out what happens down the track with Harry.

Over here in Australia, Borders are giving out free Hedwig beanies if you reserve copies. (We have 8 reserved for our school library, where I am the TL, and I plan to have them 'flying' around the Library.)

We can't wait!!!
